Glossary

An Area includes the metro, suburban, and rural areas near a larger metro city. This is a further categorization to house Leagues, Players, and Teams in an effort to help find these items within an Area a MyIntramural user is registered in.

A League is an entity offering recreation sport services to local players. A League houses Sessions and League level items such as Accounting, Players, News, Contacts, and Links.

A Session (a.k.a. season) is a schedule a League runs as a season for a specific Sport (e.g. Summer 2009 Flag Football). A Session houses Divisions, Teams, a Schedule, Games/Results, News, Facilities, Contacts, Documents.

A Team is a group of people who join and are added to a Roster in preparation of registering for a Session. Teams include Players, a Roster, Contacts.

A Player is a MyIntramural user. "Players" can also mean users who have joined a Team or are Following a League.

A Game is a contest bewtween two Teams within a Session.

Results include team scores from a Game.

Stats include statistics for players in a Game.

An All-Star League is a League that has upgraded at least one Session to an All-Star level. An All-Star Session is a Session that has upgraded to offer Online Payments and include the League page header, Custom Colors, Player Statistics, Documents, Facilities, Events, and remove Ads.

An Upgrade is a fee (per Session) to upgrade a Session to unlock its additional All-Star features and functions.

A Team Registration is the process of submitting a Team for acceptance into a Session. This is used if you have not registered in Person and would like to Register online as well as Connect your MyIntramural Team. This can only be done up until a Session locks its Teams. This will Register and Connect an MyIntramural Team to its listing within a Session's Divisions/Teams.

A Team Connect is requesting to have your MyIntramural Team connected to a Team within a Session. This is used if you have registered in person and have later created a Team on MyIntramural. This can be done after a Session locks its Teams. This will connect your MyIntramural Team to its listing within a Session's Divisions/Teams.

A Team Fee is a fee owed by your Team to a League for participation in a Session.

Following a League is a user adding themselves to the League's Players list in order to receive the League's feeds such as News and Events.

Joining a Team is applying to have your User ID attached to a Roster spot on a Team in order to receive the Team's feeds such as Games, Results, and News. This must be approved by the Team Captain. This will also add the User to a Session's Player list as a member of a Team registered to a Session.
